How to record a Zoom meeting

Record any Zoom call and walk away with an accurate transcript, a short summary, and the action items — all written for you, and no bot joining the meeting.

  1. 01

    Install ShadowEars

Download the ShadowEars app for your Mac or Windows PC, or just open it in your browser. Sign in — the free plan gives you 500 transcription minutes a month, no card needed.

  2. 02

    Start your Zoom call

Join or start your Zoom meeting like you normally would. ShadowEars doesn't send a bot into the call, so nothing new shows up in the participant list.

  3. 03

    Hit record

In ShadowEars, press Record. On the desktop app it captures the meeting audio along with your microphone; in the browser you share the meeting tab. Make sure everyone on the call is okay with being recorded.

  4. 04

    Stop when you’re done

Stop the recording when the meeting wraps. ShadowEars uploads the audio, writes down every word, and adds a short summary with action items — filed under the right project.

  5. 05

Find it — or ask Claude or ChatGPT

Open your library any time to read, search, or share the transcript and summary. Or connect Claude or ChatGPT and just ask about the meeting — it opens the recording and answers for you.
